Minimum Wage and Labor Laws

We oppose minimum wage implemented at the Federal Level as these laws distort the nature of the markets and with adequate employee protections no wage minimums are needed. Any government that can institute a minimum wage law can institute a maximum wage law and that puts the brakes on the American Dream. A government that tells the people that they cannot work for a lesser wage are duty bound to take care of that person through a system of welfare where the government forcibly takes from one citizen and gives to another citizen. This was never the intention of our government and though protections are needed for the workers the regulation of wages opens a Pandora’s box of the government interfering with our everyday lives if we allow wage laws. There are better alternative laws to ensure that labor earns a just wage.
